White Christmas 2010

For the first time since 1947 this area of North Car­oli­na received a White Christ­mas.  It start­ed late in the day and I thought for sure we were going to get skunked but at around 8 p.m. the rain which had been falling most of the day turned to snow.  With­in min­utes the ground start­ed to turn white.  I stayed up as late as pos­si­ble but called it a night some­time after 9 p.m.  The next morn­ing we woke up to a won­der­land.  It was gorgeous!

The snow is slow­ly dis­ap­pear­ing but there is still a lot of it around.  I’m glad I took lots of pic­tures of the beau­ty.  Soon it will all be gone.
