Still Aiming High

My name is Kathy Lawrence. I’ve been writ­ing short sto­ries for some time and work­ing a nov­el for over a year.  One of my short sto­ries took sec­ond place in the fic­tion cat­e­go­ry of the David­son Coun­ty, NC writer’s con­test and the sto­ry was just pub­lished in the Gulf Coast Writ­ers Association’s pub­li­ca­tion Mag­no­lia Quar­ter­ly, Win­ter 2009 issue.  I belong to three writ­ing groups: David­son Coun­ty Writ­ers Work­shop, David­son Coun­ty Writ­ers Guild, and Gulf Coast Writ­ers Association

I am an Air Force vet­er­an and dur­ing my ser­vice years was assigned to the Strate­gic Air Com­mand, Head­quar­ters 8^th Air Force at West­over AFB, Mass. in 1960.

I am mar­ried, a moth­er, and a grandmother.
